Mahdi possesses a combination of speed, production, and explosiveness. Mahdi's track & field record includes several sub-11 second 100-meter races in high school, with a season-best time of 10.6 seconds. He has been a hidden gem on the football field, because despite playing for bad teams in both high school and college, Mahdi produced. For example, in his senior year of high school, Mahdi had a standout performance against traditional powerhouse Allen, accounting for 273 total yards and a 72-yard touchdown, despite his team being outmanned. He ended the year with 16 touchdowns, 10 of which were over 40 yards, demonstrating his explosiveness. Mahdi's freshman year of college was more of the same, he continued to be an explosive player on the ground and in the air, with 2 touchdowns over 70 yards and a 5.2 yards per carry average. It was likely in a blowout loss against UIW where the Bobcats' coaching staff took notice of Mahdi's talent, as he ran for 87 yards on 13 carries for a 6.7 yards per carry average in a game where his team was losing 70-6 by halftime. Mahdi is exactly what GJ Kinne and staff are looking for, a fast explosive player who can flourish with a good team and offensive line.
