Bryce Cage
Defensive Line

The Texas State Bobcats have made a significant addition to their defensive line with the transfer of Bryce, an FCS Freshman 2nd Team All-American in 2021 from Southeast Louisiana. Despite being slowed by injury in 2022, Bryce still managed to record 4 sacks and 5 tackles for loss in the 4 games he played. He was particularly impressive in the FCS playoffs on the road against 6th-ranked Samford, where he created havoc all afternoon by constantly putting pressure on the quarterback, forcing a crucial fumble, getting a sack, and an additional tackle for loss, all in just 3 quarters of play. Unfortunately, Bryce was disqualified for targeting at the end of the 3rd quarter. The defensive line is a position of need for the Bobcats and Bryce is a great addition to the team. Despite being a little thin, he moves well and probably plays more at defensive end than defensive tackle at this level. His ability to make big plays in big games makes him a valuable addition to the Bobcats' defense.
