Hutchison Community College stands out as a powerhouse JUCO program with an excellent track record of sending players to sign with four-year football programs. Holding the #1 ranking for most of the year, earning a starting position in this program is truly an achievement. Add that Ryan had seven interceptions in just nine games, leading the JUCO rankings, and it's safe to say he had a great season.

I had the opportunity to watch Hutchinson's game against the #5 ranked Iowa Central, and I was thoroughly impressed by Ryan's performance. Moreover, his Hudl highlights, from both high school and JUCO, effectively illustrate his skill set. Nolan possesses a keen ability to analyze formations, movements, and the quarterback, allowing him to make reasonable predictions about the ball's trajectory. He has enough athleticism to put himself in position to make plays. Plus, he has excellent hands to pick-off passes.

Due to his relatively smaller stature for his position, I sought evidence that demonstrated his willingness to engage in physical contact. A specific play during the Iowa Central game caught my attention, highlighting Nolan's commitment to making tough tackles when required.

#1 for the receiving team catches a screen play with blockers ahead. As the play developed, it because obvious that this was Ryan's play to make. He did, which showed me he isn't afraid to tackle.

The ensuing play illustrates Ryan's exceptional spatial awareness, showcasing his ability to effectively cover two seemingly wide-open receivers. His keen sense of space enables him to position himself strategically, preparing to tackle whichever receiver makes the catch. Thanks to his positioning, instinct, and outstanding hands, Ryan not only prevents the completion of a poorly thrown ball but also seizes the opportunity to intercept it.

I give Ryan 4.07 stars, because quarterbacks get better at looking off defenders and WRs get much faster at this level. He will need to continue to improve.
