Preston "Max" Harris

5'11" 221lbs LB

Junior

Transfer from ULM

Update 2-7-24:

Though Max is still a proven commodity and a certainty to make the 2-deep, my initial 5 Star ranking considered the lack of experienced depth (production) at linebacker with the departure of Brian Holloway. However, this was prior to evaluating James Neal who is a bonafide G5 starting linebacker. This reduces my Other rating for Max to 4.7, his relative size to 4.7, and his skill to 5, which reduces his overall rating a little bit to 4.8 Stars from my original 5.0.

4.8 Stars!

Initial Evaluation: 1-18-2024:

5 Stars!

When evaluating players, my goal is to assess their likelihood of contributing at the Sun Belt (SBC) level and the type of impact they might have. Recruiting a player with a proven track record at the SBC level or higher, especially a young talent like Max Preston, who consistently improves with each game, simplifies my job. Max was a freshman on GJ's UIW semi-finals team and later transferred to ULM, where he ranked second on the team in total tackles (TOT) with 79. He fills the massive gap left by Brian Holloway. Plus, Max still has two years of eligibility remaining, so I'm expecting him to get even better.
