Kylen Evans
6'2" 180 lbs WR
True Freshman
Frisco Emerson HS
Kylen is another excellent freshman prospect who may see playing time right away, especially since he's joining the team this spring. He immediately adds a different dimension to our WR room: size. Standing at 6'2" and weighing 190 pounds, he is one of the biggest receivers on the roster from day one. Fortunately, size is not the only thing he brings to the table.
In my opinion, the most important attribute a receiver can have is hands and the ability to make tough catches. Kylen is a natural hands catcher and shows a great ability to make over-the-shoulder catches. Though he may not possess game-breaking speed, he is not slow, he is fortunate to have upperclassmen like Joey Hobert and Kole Wilson to help him refine his route running. Kylen is a player who, with full commitment and buy-in, has the potential to be a really good player for Texas State for a long time.
I believe TJ Finley is going to appreciate having him, and I anticipate that eventually, Kylen will become one of PJ Hatter's favorite targets.
