This evaluation turned out to be my most pleasant surprise. I didn't anticipate much from this WR prospect who is transitioning to CB at TXST. According to GJ, at summer camp, the staff switched Chris, and he began making plays consistently. Additionally, he clocked in at an impressive 4.39 with over a 40 inch vertical.
It seems that Chris' high school, Westbury, accommodated the change of position, allowing him to take snaps in the defensive backfield, at least part-time. Chris excelled on both offense and defense, ending the year with 9 rushing TDs, 2 receiving TDs, 4 Ints, 2 PD, 15 TOT, 2 TFL, and 1 pick 6.
Watching his film, I observed an electric playmaker on a less competitive team. This video is an example of Chris' natural abilit to make plays. Remember this is during his first year playing CB, so he has little experience. Notice how he naturally covers the receiver and high points the ball with soft hands.
He's a little thin, but he'll easily add 10 his first semester on campus. GJ speaks to the kid's competiviness and that the staff is all-in on Chris. So am I after watching and grading his potential.
