Tice Williams

6'1" 190lbs S

True Freshman

Conroe HS

There's much to appreciate about Tice, but there's also ample room for improvement. His highlight reel sparked excitement in me, showcasing his aggressiveness, physicality, and enthusiasm. I've broken down my review into four parts: Size, Speed, Skill & Intangibles.

Size:

Listed anywhere from 6'0" 180lbs to 6'2" 190lbs, I'm comfortable placing him at 6'1" 190lbs based on my film review. This is excellent size for a true freshman at his position. He has D1 size.

Speed:

To verify his speed, I typically look at track times. Although Tice doesn't run the 100M, his personal best in the 200M is 23.45. Additionally, he ran the third leg on his 4 x 100M relay team. In the game against The Woodlands at the 59:10 mark, a Woodlands player managed to run away from Tice, indicating potential challenges in his game. While this doesn't necessarily suggest a lack of speed, combining track results and game review leads me to estimate his current speed at around 4.7+, which, while not slow, is not game-breaking. With intelligent play, anticipation, and proper angles, Tice has enough speed to compete.

Skill:

Tice's skill set, particularly in terms of awareness and decision-making, needs improvement. Several times against The Woodlands, he appeared lost on the field, resulting in long touchdown runs. Similar mistakes were observed in his game against College Park. As a safety, you're the last line of defense. Here's one example of a play that happened a few times during the game, where Tice was totally unaware of what was happening.

Intangibles:

Tice reports a 4.2 GPA and was personally recruited by Dexter McCoil. He also received offers from the military academies, which tells me he possesses the intelligence and discipline to improve.

My Rating: I've given him a rating of 3.4 Stars, signifying he's a developmental player with the potential to make a solid contribution to the team as an upperclassman.
