Jaylen Jenkins

5'8" 177lbs RB

Junior

Washington State Transfer

Jaylen exhibits D1 talent and showcased his abilities as a true freshman in the PAC-12. You can watch a short video of his performance against USC when he earned PAC-12 Freshman of the Week.

The week following the USC game, Jaylen was thrust into the starting lineup against Oregon State, replacing the injured starting running back, Nakia Washington. Jaylen performed well, finishing with 10 touches for 72 yards and a score.

There were high expectations for Jaylen heading into 2023. Unfortunately, Cougars head coach Jake Dickert dismissed Jenkins from the team due to a violation of team rules. It seems Jaylen was a no-show at practice(s) and team meetings, but I'll never know the full story.

GJ Kinne and Crew's mantra is "Habits Reflect The Mission," so if Jaylen doesn't fully buy in, he'll be a bad fit. He possesses the physical ability to complement Ish and be an effective receiver out of the backfield. However, concerns linger about his dedication to the sport.

If I were solely evaluating his physical talents, I'd rate him at 4.25. However, considering his questionable work ethic and discipline, my overall rating is 3.75.
