Brice is a big defensive end from a not so good FCS team, who has earned an opportunity to play at Texas State mostly because of his size and GJ's relationship with Brice's previous coach. Brice had a solid junior year ending the season with 6 sacks, 10 tackles for loss, 1 forced fumble, and 2 pass breakups. According to PFF, he also recorded 18 quarterback hurries, which would have ranked him second on our team in 2023. Despite those accomplishments, the Sun Belt is a big step up in competition, ranked as the 5th best football conference in the country  in contrast to Gardner-Webb's conference, The Big South, which is ranked near the Ivy League in football.

Gardner-Webb Athletics:

Here is how I rate Brice:

Measurables: 4.68

  • Height: 6'3"

  • Weight: 250

  • Speed/Quickness: 4.25

Skills: 3.75

Brice had solid production, but he underwhelmed in his lone marquee game against Appalachian State. Limited tape makes it challenging to confidently assess his skills; however, I will most likely update this evaluation after the spring. His stats have improved each year.

Other: 3.6

We always need big men, so Brice is a welcomed addition. GJ Kinne states that Brice is a good system fit.

Overall Evaluation: 4.01

He should make the two-deep.
